Can I buy views?
Top
Is payment secure?
We collect credit card and payment information using only the latest encryption technology. This means that all financial information is encypted so that it cannot be read by anyone while it travels over the internet. In addition, to protect your identity we do not store any credit card numbers on meScreen.com servers.
Top
How much does it cost to buy views?
Views are charged on a cost-per-click basis. You set your own cost-per-click starting at $0.03 per view. Videos with higher cost-per-click typically are shown first and more often.

Your video is only seen when someone clicks on your video link, so you can create highly targeted views by editing the keywords you place in your video's hyperlink text. However, strict targeting can lead to lower clickthru rates. With a low clickthru rate you will have to pay more per click to get the same number of views, but you should still see better ROI results due to the better targeting.

Views are paid in advance. The minimum deposit is $15.00.

Top
Do you guarantee viewers will watch my whole video?
No. A view is counted as soon as someone clicks on your video link. We do not force anyone to watch a specific ad all the way through, however, we do make sure each person's viewing time includes a certain proportion of ads. For example, in a given time period we will require a viewer to watch 60 seconds of ads.

We never force our users to watch any video or advertisement. If a person does not like your ad, they may choose to quickly move onto another video. If the viewer does not meet the time requirement on the first ad, then the only other video options available to them will be other ads.

If your statistical reports indicate that a high proportion of viewers are skipping your ad in favor of other ads, that is a good indicator that your ad is not well received.

Top
How fast will I get views?
How fast you get views depends on several factors.
  1. Cost-per-click - For advertisers, the more you pay per click the more views you will receive
  2. Clickthru rate - depending on the hyperlink text you create, you can control whether you receive a high or low clickthru rate. Given the same CPC, and ranking, a higher clickthru rate ad will receive more views.
  3. Ranking - Whenever possible we show ads people like before we show ads viewers do not like as much.
  4. Daily Maximum - If your daily maximum cost is below the total views available, you will not receive views in excess of your specified limit
  5. Targeting - The more targeting keywords you associate with your video, the more views you will receive. We always show ads that match a users profile before we show random ads.
You can look at your statistics page to get estimates for how many views can be expected for each keywords phrase or in total.
Top
Can I target Views by gender, location, age, or other demographics?
No. Currently targeting depends exclusively on whether the keywords you type for your video match a users channel profile. This targeting system will usually take care of reaching the correct gender and age targets.

If you want more control, you can put additional keywords in your video hyperlink. For example, instead of just using "My Video" as your video title/hyperlink you could include a target such at "Attention WOMEN: My video." Since you only get views when a real person clicks your video hyperlink, your control over the hyperlink text lets you fine tune targeting however you like.

Top
Can the same person see my ad more than once?
Yes, we set a repeat timeframe to be similar to television advertising. By default, the same meScreen.com account will never see your ad more than once every 7 days. The only exception to this repeat timeframe is if a user intentionally searches for your ad and clicks on it, in which case we allow them to see it no matter how recently they have already viewed it.

Watching Videos

Top
What is my personal video channel?
meScreen.com uses your viewing history to create a personalized video channel. Your channel is a set of videos that we recommend based on your interests. When you watch videos, if you do not pick a specific topic or category, we will offer you video choices based on this personal channel.

Your channel is created in part by your ranking videos as "Love it" or "hate it." However we also consider many other aspects of how you interact with individual videos.

For example, if you often rate "Michael Jackson" videos as "love it" then whenever a new Michael Jackson video is submitted to meScreen.com it is likely to be added to the video recommendations on your channel.

Top
How do I improve my channel and get better recommendations?
The best thing you can do to improve your channel recommendations is to watch videos you like and not watch video you don't like. Don't click on videos you know you won't like or it will adversely skew your recommendation. When you really like a video select the "love it" icon.

Use the "hate it" icon sparingly. For example, if you often select "love it" for "County Music" videos, then you are likely to see all different types of country music artists. However, if there is one particular "country" artist you do not want to see, select "hate it" when that particular country video appears.

If you are new to meScreen.com or your recommendations aren't ideal, start by selecting specific categories you know you'll like, then watching and rating videos in those categories. Your recommendations will start to improve.

Top
How do I edit my personal video channel?
Currently you cannot directly add or remove categories from your channel recommendations. The fastest way to add a topic to your channel is to find several videos in a category you like and select the "love it" icon. If you keep seeing videos you don't want on your channel make use of the "hate it" icon.
Top
What do my votes mean?
Select "Love it" to see more simlar videos recommended
Select "Hate it" to see fewer simlar videos recommended

You are not required to leave feeback or vote.
Top
How do I report adult or innapropriate videos?
If a video does not load, if the video host shows an error message, or if the video contains offensive words or images, click the gray, frowning icon with eyes closed. If others also report this video it will quickly lose its ranking. As the rank continually falls, eventually it will receive no more views.
Top
Can I skip videos I don't like?
Yes. We don't expect you to watch videos you don't like. If you don't like what you are seeing just move on to another video. If you skip over an advertisement, you may not be presented any non-ad choices until you view another ad.
Top
How do I see my viewing history?
When you are shown video search results on any page, the right column will also display options. One set of options titled "show me" allows you to change the search results to show all videos, recommendations, or videos you have already seen. You should also select a corresponding "time frame" from the options panel on the right.
Top
Do you ever show me the same video more than once?
Yes. If you have not changed the default settings, you will only see a repeat video after 1 Month. You can see repeats more often by changing your search time frame to one of the other options. The "time frame" selection appears in the right column of any video search results page.

Sometimes the same video may be submitted twice by the same person, twice by different people, or multiple times from different video sharing hosts. We treat any such separate submissions as different videos as each will likely be indexed under different targeting categories.

Top
How long must I watch each video?
There is no minimum. You can watch as little or as much as you want. We will not force you to watch any video. To qualify for payment you must watch 5 minutes of video, but that time can be spread over 6 or more videos. If you don't like a video, you will not be penalized for moving on to another one.

There is a minimum ad viewing requirement. If you don't view enough ads, you will have to view additional ads before you can move onto non-ad videos. But again, you can always move onto another video and are not forced to watch andy single video or ad.

Top
Do I have to watch ads?
Yes and No. You don't have to watch any one particular ad. You only watch videos when you click on the video link yourself. Also, if you don't like the ad, you are free to skip it and move onto another video instead.

However, we do require that a certain proportion of your time is spent watching ads. Any time your viewing does not include enough time watching ads, all 6 choices for your next video will be ads. So yes, you have to watch ads, but you get to choose which ones.

Posting Videos

Top
What videos can I submit?
You can submit any video that does not contain nudity, foul language, illegal or adult content. You need the URL of a video at one of the following video hosts:
  • AOL Video
  • Atom.com
  • Blip.tv
  • DailyMotion
  • Google Video
  • Hulu
  • Metacafe
  • MySpace Video
  • Revver
  • Spike/iFilm
  • Yahoo Video
  • YouTube
  • Vimeo
Top
Can I have multiple videos?
Yes. You can submit as many videos as you like on your account. If you are using exchange delivery we recommend concentrating on just one or a few videos at one time. If you are receiving payments, make sure and review the new keyword suggestions on all your videos.

The only penalty for having many videos is that it usually leads to poorer maintenance. If you have many videos make sure to keep track of each individual video and consider removing videos that are not performing well.

Top
I can't see my video
meScreen.com redirects your browser directly to your video host at the URL you provide us. If you cannot see your video, either you gave us an incorrect URL, or your host is not displaying the video correctly. The meScreen.com browser bar works best on sites that show your video in the upper-left corner of the browser, otherwise you may have to scroll your browser to see the video frame.
Top
Video is on my own web site
Currently we do not link to any videos other than those hosted on a preselected list of video sharing sites: Video Hosts

If you wish to submit a different video, you must submit it to one of these services. To get links to your own web site, most of these services allow you to include links on the description page. Also, we recommend you include information about your web site in the video content itself.

Top
Can the same video be submitted twice?
Yes. Some advertisers may wish to submit the same video twice with different keywords or different cost-per-click. It is also possible that two different posters may submit the same video. This is especially true of very popular videos, however, be aware that duplicate videos often get a lower ranking, and whenever possible we recommend posting only unique videos.
Top
Can I submit copyrighted videos?
meScreen.com does not host any video content on our own servers, and therefore does not enforce any coryright restrictions. If you are the content creator of a video and own the copyright, we encourage you to submit your videos.

You may also submit videos from the video sharing community to which others hold copyright. You can earn payment credits or receive views as long as there is no copyright dispute. If the video is removed by the hosting site for a copyright violation, it's ranking on will also drop to zero. Also if any copyright holder reports infringement, we may remove the disputed video from your account or block the video from receiving additional views.

Getting Paid

Top
How do I get Paid?
Here is a simplified version of the process:
  1. Post a video
  2. Buy or exchange views until you have a satisfactory ranking
  3. Activate payments and receive payment credits for each time someone views your video
  4. Every day you qualify, you get real cash multiplied by your total payment credit balance.
For a more detailed explanation link to our How-it-works page.
Top
How much can I earn?
There is not limit to how much you can earn. However earning payment credits takes time, and you are therfore limited by how much time you can dedicate to meScreen.com.

Since you never lose payment credits* and your payout can increase every day, it is very possible to earn a part or full time income.

Top
What does it mean to qualify?
To be qualified, means you are eligible for payment on a given day. You must qualify every day to be paid on that day and you can be paid up to once per day. Qualification is a simple process designed simply to determine which members are active and which are not. We want to share the most payments with those who are most active.

To qualify you must watch at least 5 minutes of video. That viewing must include at least a portion of 6 videos. Qualification is simple and easy. The amount you are paid is based on how many payment credits you have, not how many videos you watch. meScreen.com is not a "Get paid to watch videos" site. We pay for contributions to our site, not watching videos on our site.

Top
What is a payment "credit?"
Payment credits determine how much you will be paid. The value of each payment credit fluctuates each day and is posted on your account page. Each day, if you qaulify for payment, we multiply the daily credit value by the number of credits in your account balance. This daily payout is added to your cash balance.

There are several ways to earn payment credits:

  1. Posting videos - You get credit for each qualified view when a person clicks on one of the videos you submitted to meScreen.com. The payout is a moving average based on the actual earnings from advertisements watched that day.
  2. Referring others - You get a 10% commission on any credits earned by someone you refer to meScreen.com You can refer others directly or by sharing videos in social networking, bookmarking, or online communities.
  3. Free credits - At our discretion we may give free credits to individuals, or offer opportunties to win credits
  4. Purchase - For information on purchasing credits directly click here for details.
Top
How much is a payment credit worth?
The value of a payment credit is set each day. The value is based on the total profit and expenses of our company over time. In other words there are many factors which influence the value of a payment credit from economic factors to business decisions.

Because credit values can vary significantly from day to day, we have arranged for additional controls designed to stabilize credit value. We guarantee, that regardless of our company profit, in a single day the value of a payment credit will not rise or fall by more than 3.5%, or 0.002¢, whichever is greater.

Top
How do I get my money (Cash out)?
Click here to cash out. All cash requests are paid by PayPal. You must have a PayPal account in order to receive your cash. You may cash out at any time, however, it may be up to 2 weeks until payment is made.

There is no specific minimum, however, requests must be in whole dollars and we deduct all paypal fees from your cash request. The current fees are 3.5% up to $1.00. We set the minimum fee at $0.10.

Top
Why is my cash balance so low?
Payment is tied directly to the number of payment credits you have. Payout is unrelated to the amount of time you watch videos. Building a credit balance requires regular and consistent contributions. meScreen.com is not a "Get paid to watch videos" site.

It will take several days before you start to earn cash. Earning cash requires taking the time to find, submit and index great videos. The better videos you find and the more categories you setup in targeting, the more payment credits you will earn.

To learn about other ways to earn credits click here

After you earn credits you have cash added to your account every day that you qualify.

For the most complete explanation of the process link to our How-it-works page.

Top
How do you get a daily pay increase (raises)?
You can get a daily pay increase because you never lose payment credits.* As long as you earn at least a fraction of a payment credit each day, you will get an increase each day. Even a single video post may earn credits for months or years with no additional work.

While the number of payment credits in your account can continually increase, we cannot guarantee an increase in actual dollars. The dollar value of each payment credit varies every day based on factors that are difficult to predict. Assuming the value of each credit stays the same or increases, your daily payout also increases every day. Only in the case where the credit value decreases can the daily payout decrease. Usually, over periods of several months, credit value increases tend to offset credit value decreases and a daily increase can be realized.

For the most complete explanation of the process link to our How-it-works page.

Top
Can you really get paid forever?
Because you never lose payment credits,* you can get a real cash payout every day, indefinitely. We cannot predict the future value of each credit, however, since your credit balance will never go to zero once you have credits, you are guaranteed at least some daily payout every day that you qualify, for as long as credits hold any value at all.

For the most complete explanation of the process link to our How-it-works page.

Video Statistics

Top
What are "exposures?"
Each time a video is watched, we also show 6 additional video links that the viewer can choose for their next video. Anytime we show your video link, in the "next video" suggestion or in search results, we count one exposure.

An exposure does not mean someone watched the video, only that we offered it to them by giving them a link to your video. Exposures are most meaningful when compared to "views" or "clickthru rate."

Top
What are "views?"
A "view" is counted any time someone clicks your video hyperlink. Usually this results in someone watching your video. However, the viewer may not see your video if it does not load, if the host website is not operational, if your host does not allow autoplay, or if the viewer immediately stops the video.

To interpret views, also look at the length of the view (number of seconds on video page) , and viewer votes.

There are 2 different subcategories of "views" that may be reported: Total views or Qualified views. Qualified views refer only to views eligible to earn payment.

Top
What are "Qualified" views?
Qualified views apply only to those who are earning payment credits for videos. You earn payment credits only for "qualfied" views. In other words, you earn payment credits only for views that generate advertising revenue. The following types of views usually do not generate advertising revenue and would not be "qualified:"
  • Views generated from "share this video" links
  • Views from search engines, or linked from search results
  • Views generated by robots or cheaters
  • Views generated from someone that does not watch advertised videos
Top
What are "clicks?"
Each video is automatically associated with a web site. Each view automatically redirects viewers to your video on your host. If the submitted or advertiser indicates a different URL a link to a separate website appears in the toolbar.

The click counter shows how many of your views also clicked this web site link. The counter does not count clicks that arrive from the video site itself or the flash video itself. meScreen.com counts clicks only when a viewer clicks the actual promo link we provide. The majority of links should come from the video page itself on your host. The link we provide is just an additional link. Duplicate clicks are ignored so that only one click can be counted per view of your video.

Top
What is Clickthru Rate (CTR)?
Clickthru rate is the percentage of exposures that turn into qualified views. On the video player page, we always show 6 recommendations for the next video choice. If all videos were equal, each would receive one sixth of the clicks or about 16.7% clickthru rate. Clickthru Rate does not include exposure on the search or popular video pages, only exposures on the toolbar.

We only count "qualified" views which means your actual clickthru rate is high. We report only clicks that are "qualified" to earn payment credits. When all is considered, any clickthru rate over 5% is high. If you want highly targeted views, you may actually want a lower clickthru rate. By creating a highly targeted video hyperlink, you can reduce your clickthru rate, so that only highly targeted leads view your video.

A high clickthru rate may be desireable if your video appeals to a general audience. A lower clickthru rate may be desireable if your have a niche audience.

Clickthru rate does not affect your ranking. Given 2 videos with the same ranking, the one with the higher clickthru rate would receive more views. Also, be aware that intentionally editing your hyperlink to encourage more views may increase your clickthru rate, but if many uninterested people watch your video it may lower your ranking and actually reduce your total views.

Clickthru rate is provided primarily for informational purposes. By comparing the clickthru rate on different keywords you can see which keywords are more highly targetd. Accurate targeting is more beneficial that a high clickthru rate.

Top
What does the video "rank" mean?
Your video rank is a percentile. For example, a video rank of 100% means your video is better than ALL other videos, a video rank of 50% means half the videos scored higher and half lower. A rank of 10% means your video ranks higher than only 10%, or in other words 90% ranked higher than yours.

We calculate a different ranking on each keyword phrase in your targeting. The higher your ranking in any given keyword, the sooner your video wil be shown to someone who has that keyword in the person video channel. Typically you will have a higher ranking in highly targeted keywords, and a lower ranking in broad keywords.

Also remember that all videos start with a zero ranking. So your ranking may keep rising until you have at least 30 views. Given the same clickthru rate, videos with higher ranking get more views. To get the most views, you want the highest ranking and the highest clickthru rate, however this is very difficult. You're better off trying to improve ranking first, then clickthru rate.

The best way to improve your ranking is to find new keyword phrases and categories that draw additional views. For example, you may have indexed your video under "Funny People." but you will likely get more views and a better ranking if you also try "Comedians," "Clean Comedians," "Women Comedians" and many other more detailed cateogory targets. You can track which targets yield the most views and the highest ranking.

My view counter doesn't go up
We do not force anyone to watch your video so meScreen.com counts a view immediately when we direct someone to your video regardless of whether the viewer stays 1 second, or 10 minutes. Each video sharing site counts views differently. The most common discrapancy occures because some hosts require a minimum amount of time viewing in order to count a view. For this reason we recommend submitting shorter, rather than longer videos.

Depending on your host any of the following can lead to understated views counts:

  • Host may require a minimum viewing time to count a view
  • Host may only update count hourly or daily, not instantly
  • Host may not count views unless viewer clicks the play button
  • Host video may not load even though we directed the browser to load it
  • Viewer browsers may block views due to javascript disabled
  • Viewer may set browser to not load videos even though we send redirect information
  • Viewers may have add-ons installed on their computer that interfere
  • Viewers browser or host may be incompatible with meScreen.com
If meScreen.com reports views and your host's view counter does not increase even after several days, check to make sure your video URL is correct by clicking "description" next to the video on your "my account" page.

How do you get video views?
There are 3 delivery methods for receiving views. Only one of these methods can be active on the same video at the same time. You choose one:
  1. Video Payments - If you "activate payments" we show your video based on your targeting and rank. High ranking videos get shown first. No number of views is guaranteed, but you will receive "payment credits" each time someone watches the video
  2. Video Exchange - If you "activate exchange views" you earn one guaranteed view of your video for each 60 seconds you wath others' videos. (after daily qualifying)
  3. Video Advertising - If you "activate ad delivery" you pay for guaranteed views. You set the cost. The higher your cost-per-view, the more often your video is shown.
Top
How many views will I get?
The number of views you receive depends on your delivery method:
  • Video Payments - Views depend on your ranking. Highly ranked videos in each cateogry receive the most views. No views are guaranteed.
  • Video Exchange - Your views are limited only by your time. You earn 1 view for 60 seconds of watching videos (after daily qualification).
  • Video Advertising - The more you pay per view, the more views you get, however, if you choose narrowly targeted keywords, views may be limited. Views are also limited by your max daily spending setting.
Top
Are views targeted?
As members watch videos they can select a category channel. Members also rate videos and provide other feedback. We use data about each user's interaction to create a personal channel profile for each user.

Whenever possible we offer videos that best match a user's personal channel. When a targeted video cannot be found, we will offer videos at random.

Top
How can you optimize targeting?
Top
How can you get guaranteed views?
If you want to be paid for your videos, there is no guarantee. The number of views you receive is based on the video ranking. Since all videos start with a zero ranking, you usually need to generate at least 25 views on your own before you establish a high enough ranking and start getting paid views.

To get guaranteed views and establish a ranking you can:

  1. Buy views - Click here for advertising information
  2. Exchange views - Exchanging views allows you to earn views for free by watching others' videos. Every time you watch 60 seconds of others' videos (up to 50 seconds per video), you get one guaranteed view to your own video.
Top
What are Video Exchange Views?
Exchanging views allows you to earn views for free by watching others' videos. Every time you watch 60 seconds of others' videos (up to 50 seconds per video), you get one guaranteed view to your own video. The number of views you earn is only limited by the amount of time you have to watch others' videos. Although views earned are guaranteed, videos with better targeting, and a higher ranking will receive priority and receive their guaraneed views sooner.

* Payment credits will only be removed in the event they were credited erroneously, you were given credits not earned, or if credits have already been awarded for money we fail to collect from an advertiser.
